Games[]
In Sonic Heroes, Team Dark and all the other teams collaborate in an attempt to defeat Metal Sonic, who has transformed into Neo Metal Sonic, who then transformed into Metal Madness. Team Dark was one of 4 teams that attacked Metal Madness. Metal Madness then transformed into Metal Overlord. Metal Overlord was immune to attack, but through the use of the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic achieved his super speedy super form, Super Sonic, and transferred some of his power to Tails and Knuckles, thus becoming Team Super Sonic (Team Super Sonic is not the official name of this super team). Even with a slim chance, Team Super Sonic defeated Metal Overlord. The robot then went from big-mouthed robot dragon overlord, to little, mute, doppleganger of Sonic the Hedgehog. He is then left in E-123 Omega's arms after being promised a future race by Sonic.
He is playable in 2-player mode in Sonic Adventure 2.
He appears again in Sonic Rivals where he is sent by Doctor Eggman Nega, a descendant of Doctor Eggman. Programmed to obey and follow the evil egg-head, he is sent to keep Shadow, Silver, Sonic, and Knuckles away from Onyx Island. He is unlocked as a playable character after beating the game once. His special ability is to copy his opponent's special ability.
His last appearance in the main storyline is in Sonic Rivals 2. He is reprogrammed to obey Doctor Eggman. He teams up with Shadow on orders from Eggman and find Eggman Nega. Depending on the players choices, Metal Sonic can be playable in the final level against the Ifrit or not.
He has appeared as a new playable character along with Silver the Hedgehog (originaly a hackable character in the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games) in Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games.
He will appear in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4, as confirmed in a leaked video of Metal Sonic in the game.
